The Good to Talk Tour

Ten gigs. Ten cities. Eleven (!) Charities. Ten days. Ten miles? No!

700+ miles, by pushbike.

In Feb 2015 I’ll be cycling away for a poetry adventure around the country.

I’m doing it in the memory of a good friend, Lizzie Lee, to raise money for the causes that she spent so much of her time and energy supporting.

I’m a performance poet, I own a bike, and know how to use it. So I’ve decided to combine the above into the:

Good to Talk Tour!

It’s ten spoken word gigs in ten days, cycling to each one by pedal power alone.

I’ll start from my home near Petersfield and cycle to the first gig in Southampton on Sunday the 22nd of Febuary 2015, then cycle onwards to Bristol, Oxford, Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Cambridge, London, Brighton, and finishing with the final gig in Reading on Tuesday the 3rd of March. Phew!

It’s a daunting challenge, not least because of the organisation involved… But I’ll get there.

The main charities I’ll be supporting are No5 Youth Counselling, based in Reading, and Launchpad – which helps homeless people in Reading. I first met Lizzie while we were both volunteering at No5, and Launchpad was a charity that Lizzie spent a lot of time fundraising for – taking part in their Big Sleep Out event every year that I knew her.

If you’d like to sponsor me and support one or both of the charities above then click the buttony thing at the top of the page… go on, touch my button!

Each gig along the way will be fundraising  for brilliant local charities in each  city visited.

Further details to follow, as and when they’re organised. Any and all help will be more than gratefully recieved.
